Counseling

I offer individual therapy for adults via telehealth, for clients in Minnesota and tennessee. I am now practicing at Nourish, INC, where patients established with a dietitian can request psychotherapy with me.

I enjoy working with parents while navigating the challenges and gifts of neurodivergence, e.g. autism and ADHD. I like to help clients through sexual and/or gender identity questions and transitions. I also like to help clients with chronic diseases figure out how to address disability as part of their identity, and better manage their health, through making the most of their resources and support systems while maintaining dignity and as much independence as possible.

Clients describe my approach as both nonjudgmental and forthright. I will encourage clients on their way to meeting their self-identified goals, using a variety of techniques, e.g. narrative and solution-focused therapies, motivational interviewing, and biofeedback.

Identify what matters to you. Work through grief or trauma that keeps you stuck. Figure out what gets in your way of living out your values. Cultivate purpose and meaning in your life. Enjoy the steady, gentle support of an experienced guide.

Sharing your life with someone else can bring you a sense of security.  But sometimes you feel stuck, in conflict or simply disconnected from your partner or spouse. Facing big problems can be scary, but you don’t have to do it alone.

Clinical Supervision

I offer clinical supervision for social workers completing hours toward licensure (and I’m in the process of approval for LPCC supervision). I live and work in the the South Metro area of the Twin Cities, so if we are within a half hour drive, I am glad to meet in person when scheduling allows, but I also feel comfortable with virtual sessions, for individual supervision. When I begin to offer group supervision in the future, it will likely be virtual to avoid problems with accessibility, depending on the needs and preferences of all participants.

One of my professional interests is decolonizing my clinical work, and I hope to work with supervisees who are open to exploring this concept and how it might shape our clinical work. Other areas of interest for me include intersectionality, neurodivergence, and how a sense of shared meaning serves as a protective and curative force in relationships.

My approach is tailored to each individual, depending on your needs and goals for growth in clinical skills. I appreciate some structure and will follow up on questions, but also strive to remain open as new issues will inevitably arise in your clinical work. I’m open to email communication and/or a free consultation to find out whether we might be compatible. I do offer sliding scale fees to ensure financial accessibility; please feel free to inquire about a discounted rate. My full fees per hour are $80 (individual)/$30 (group).

Consulting

Contact me for confidential peer-to-peer consultation on psychotherapy challenges. I enjoy detailed discussions regarding a wide range of concerns: identifying and addressing signs of burnout, ethical dilemmas, professional boundaries, managing transference/counter-transference, and strategies for increased equity in business practices, Areas of clinical interest include neurodivergence, chronic disease management in the context of mental health (and vice versa) and role delineation of the clinical social worker. I am also a registered nurse so I enjoy discussing cases with medical or medication concerns too. My hourly rate for consultation is $50.
